Refining a Search for a Specific Record

Refining a Search for a Specific Record

In general, when searching in files with a lot of records, it is most efficient to search in a specified field using the Find mode rather than than using the generic Search bar located at the top right of the screen.  The generic search function searches all fields at once, which can be slower.  Doing a search in a specific field such as "Artist"  or "Title" will search just in that field and consequently will be quicker.

What Should I Do if the Program Crashes or a File Becomes Corrupted?

If possible revert to a backup copy that was made before the file became corrupt. If you do not have a back up, here are instructions on recovering.

To recover a damaged file:

●  On Windows machines, press Ctrl+Shift while double-clicking the My Art Collection application icon.Hold the keys down until you see the Open Damaged File dialog box.

●  On Mac OS X machines, press Command-Option while double-clicking the My Art Collection application icon. Hold the keys down until you see the Open Damaged File dialog box.

What to expect during the recovery process
During the recovery process, the My Art Collection application:

●  creates a new file

●  renames any damaged file by adding Old to the end of the file name. (myart.ma2 Old)

●  gives the repaired file the original name.

If you experience unusual behavior in the recovered file, please contact us.
